Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty

Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty,

God in three persons, blessed Trinity. Reginald Heber

Read Revelation 4:6—11
A little glimpse into heaven. It confirms something I had suspected. The worship I see going on, it’s full on. Nothing is held back. It’s all on! It’s not ‘holy,’ but ‘holy, holy, holy!’ ‘Glory, honour and power!’ It’s what I suspected. Half-hearted worship won’t do. It doesn’t work. It’s no fun. Half-hearted faith won’t do it. It doesn’t work, either. It is disappointing, even disillusioning. It leads me to criticise my church and my pastor and my fellow worshippers because I look at them instead of God. This whole thing only works when God has all of me, and all of my worship. Only then am I knowing him truly, when I cannot help but worship.

Prayer
Holy, holy, holy, the Lord God, the almighty, who was and is and is to come. You are worthy, my Lord and God, to receive glory from me, honour from my heart, and to have power over my life. For you created all things and you created me to be part of the all things, the part that honours you. By your will I exist. By your will, for your purpose, I am created. To declare holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the almighty.
