Let him be known

Ye servants of God, your Master proclaim,

And publish abroad his wonderful name. Charles Wesley

Matthew 10:26—33

It looks to me as though the intention of Jesus Christ as my Saviour is also to be my judge in that his plan is to out me. He will expose who I really am. In doing that he will reveal who I belong to. And it is his purpose for me that in this whole process, the culmination of what my life has been about all along, he will be the one who speaks. His purpose for me will be fulfilled when he acknowledges me as his own. It really is designed to be a marvellous moment of rejoicing, him owning me before the Father, me owning Jesus, and joy in heaven. With that as the goal, my day today, my day tomorrow, my daily life is the preparation and the practice and the privilege. It is the opportunity in nuanced but open ways to acknowledge Jesus.

Dear Father, I know that it is only in your Son that I will come before you, and that because I am in the Son I will come before you. You have entrusted me to him and he will not drive me away. I pray for the leading of the Holy Spirit in the living of my daily life. I pray for the same Spirit to inhabit my conversations, embolden me, assure me of Christ, and do through me what amounts to true witness to Jesus, the witness that you would have of one of your children.
